Call for Submissions: The Resonance of Choice (Art for Reproductive Justice)

Are you a creative storyteller who believes in reproductive justice for all? Whether through activism, art, organizing, or personal experience, do you believe in storytelling as a force for sparking hope and sustaining movements for change?

The Ipas Nigeria Health Foundation invites you to submit original creative works for “The Resonance of Choice.” This initiative seeks to destigmatize abortion access by shifting advocacy from “telling” to “feeling,” therefore engaging the audience’s empathy through artistic expression.

The Brief: Art as Advocacy

We are looking for bold, unfiltered creative works that explore the theme of Reproductive Justice. We want you to utilize art as a means of advocacy to engage and dismantle the stigma that often surrounds safe abortion care.

Your work should reflect one or two of the following themes:

  • Stigma as a thief of potential: Depicting how stigma in accessing safe abortion care has taken many lives and dreams.
  • Stigma as a barrier to care: Challenging the social stigma and “shame” barriers to abortion care deep-seated in society.
  • Advocacy & Reproductive Justice: Visualizing what the future looks like when sexual and reproductive health is a right.

To support the vision of local creatives, the following packages will be awarded to the top-selected contributors:

  • 1st Position: ₦750,000
  • 2nd Position: ₦500,000
  • 3rd Position: ₦200,000
